Position Summary:
The Insulator Helper assists the Journeyman Insulator with various duties related to insulation of mechanical/industrial applications. The incumbent is responsible for staging and managing materials, job site cleanup, insulation of piping, vessels, tanks and architectural type metals and flashing. Duties include, but are not limited to:- Measure and cut insulation for covering surfaces using hand and power tools
- Prepares surfaces for insulation
- Assists with the insulating, covering, wrapping, stapling, gluing, and fitting insulating materials
- Assist with the completion of insulation using plastic covers, sealants, tape, cement and metals
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, or Equivalent
- Valid Drivers License with clean driving record
- One (1) year Insulating experience
Required Education, Training and Certificates
- OSHA 10, or ability to obtain upon hire
- H2S, or ability to obtain upon hire
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of general insulation process and methods
- Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in insulation
- Knowledge of design, principles and technical plans such as blueprints, drawings and models
- Knowledge of Hazardous Materials and Safety Regulations and industry practices related to materials and equipment used and operation
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to use time efficiently in order to complete projects/assignments on time
- Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
- Ability to handle stress and possess positive attitude even in difficult or challenging situations
